When Ardelia Beach, founder of the landmark Basin Harbor Club, first came to Vermont to establish a working farm that would take in summer boarders anxious to escape urban living, she could not have chosen a better locale. Unofficially described as Vermont’s West Coast, Lake Champlain is the sixth-largest lake in America, with more than 600 miles of shoreline bordering its 120-mile length. Since the farmhouse’s creation in 1886, Beach’s vision has evolved into a 700-acre resort including 77 distinctive cottages, many of which offer fireplaces, decks and views of the Adirondack Mountains and Lake Champlain.

Basin Harbor Club is the first heritage accommodation in Vermont to be designated a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, and on-site golf courses and pristine gardens echo the natural splendor with landscaped perfection. This seasonal resort is adjacent to the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, where traditional maritime skills and historical events are presented in a fascinating collection of exhibits. Hotel Amenities & Policies
Adjoining Rooms: Adjoining rooms are not available in guestrooms. The resort does offer multi-bedroom cottages.
Age Requirements: Guests are required to be 18 years or older with photo identification to reserve a room and check-in. Packages that include alcohol require guests to be at least 21 years old at time of check-in. Guests under age must accompanied by an adult.
Airport: The closest airport is Burlington International Airport (30 miles, 45 minutes). An airport shuttle may be arranged through the hotel's concierge, rates apply.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made 14 days prior to arrival in May, June, September, and October. Cancellations must be made 30 days prior in July and August prior to arrival. Two (2) nights deposit is forfeited for any cancellations after cut-off.
Cribs and Pack-in-Plays: Available on a complimentary basis
Deposit: Two (2) nights deposit is required at time of booking
Early Check-In/Late Check-Out: Early check-ins are subject to availability. Late check-outs are subject to 1/2 day rate after 12:30 p.m.
Extra Person Fees: Fees vary, dependent on type of package booked
Gift Certificates: Gift certificates are available. Certificates without an expiration date are permitted in Vermont.
Handicap Accessible Rooms: Handicap accessible rooms are available. The eight (8) units available vary from studio up to two-bedroom cottages. Please notify request at time of booking.
Hotel/Resort Fees & Taxes: Reservations booked under Best Available Rate and most of the resort's packages are subject to a resort fee of 9%. There is a resort fee of 18% on the Full American Plan and packages that include dinner. The resort fee covers gratuities for any meals covered within the plan, as well as housekeeping. All reservations are subject to a City/State Tax of 9%.
Occupancy Restrictions: Varies by room type. The largest unit available on-property can accommodate eight (8) people.
Parking: On-site parking is available on a complimentary basis.
Payment: Payment is required at time of booking. Visa and Mastercard are accepted.
Pet Policy: Permitted, in cottages only; $15.00 per pet, per day
