Unmatched in charm and elegance for nearly 100 years, The Westin Poinsett, Greenville’s only AAA Four Diamond Award recipient, offers guests the modern amenities they desire with quality service and warm hospitality. With soaring ceilings, exquisite ballrooms, and rich marble moldings carefully preserved, The Poinsett retains 1920s historic detail and ambiance. Originally, the hotel stood on South Main Street as the Mansion House, but after it was demolished in 1924, the hotel was rebuilt and came to be known as one of the most beautifully furnished hotels in the country. The Poinsett hotel, which quickly earned its reputation as “Carolina’s finest”—drew notables such as Amelia Earhart, Cornelius Vanderbilt, and Robert Kennedy.
