The Omni Parker House has developed a reputation as being one of the most haunted locations in the entire commonwealth, with some of the earliest paranormal sightings dating back to 1940. For instance, guests report seeing numerous apparitions on the 9th and 10th floors that aimlessly walk the corridors. These levels of the building are also the origin for strange orbs of light. Elevator One is suspected of paranormal activity as well, as it randomly appears on the 3rd floor with no one inside. Room 303 is perhaps the hotel’s most well-known hotspot for encounters with the supernatural. Many guests recall experiencing the smell of whiskey and the sound of disembodied laughter within the room.
The most enduring tales involve Harvey D. Parker himself. Some people specifically say they encounter a grey mist that rapidly forms into the apparition of a heavy-set man with a beard. Matching the description of Parker, this ghost typically disappears as soon as its noticed. But sightings of Parker are also reported to occur inside some of the guestrooms. On such story involved a mother and daughter who were staying in Room 1012. The daughter awoke around daybreak to encounter the image of a man standing at the foot of her bed, dressed entirely in garments from the 19th century. He was smiling at her as if to ask: “Are you enjoying your stay?” When she smiled back in reply, he vanished. She later saw a portrait of Harvey D. Parker down in the dining room and was amazed to realize that it was the same man who was in her room earlier that morning!
