• Experience a relaxing swim inside the Grand Hotel’s historic Esther Williams Swimming Pool. Recently renovated, the pool is named after actress and competitive swimmer, Esther Williams, who once visited the Grand Hotel while starring in This Time for Keeps. Among the new additions to this iconic, 220-foot-long serpentine pool include a large, heated whirlpool, expanded deck space, a new family area, and more than a dozen magnificent cabanas.
• Enjoy the many new shops that now reside in the resort’s Grand Retail Space. Grand Kids sells a wide variety of children’s products that commemorate a trip to the Grand Hotel, while Margaret’s Garden offers unique floral arrangements. Colony and Cagney has also been reborn as two separate stores called “Grand Womens” and “Grand Mens,” which feature custom clothing from retailers like Geranium, Alynn, and Vineyard Vines.
• Play a round of golf at the Grand Hotel’s celebrated course, “The Jewel.” Hailed by Golf Digest for its fantastic setting, The Jewel is one of the most unique courses in Northern Michigan and the United States. The Grand nine, located across from the hotel with views of the Straits of Mackinac, was built in 1901 and redesigned in 1987 by golf course architect Jerry Matthews. In 1994, he also designed the Woods nine, located in the interior of Mackinac Island with views of the Mackinac Bridge and the Upper Peninsula.
