• Experience a show at the nearby Palace Theater which dates back to 1928. It was Ohio's first motion picture cinema to screen a talking picture. A pre-release of Paramount's "Something Always Happens," starring Neil Hamilton and Esther Ralston, was the opening night film and the first talkie to be shown in Ohio. Today the theater shows movies, plays, and musical acts.
• Enjoy a baseball game at the Mercy Health Stadium, the home of the Lake Erie Crushers, a minor league team. They play in the Frontier League's West Division, an independent baseball league that is not affiliated with Major League Baseball.
• Hike the trails at the Black River Reservation and see the gorgeous waterfall located within the park. Other highlights include the Bridgeway Trail which features a 1,000-foot bridge that crosses the Black River twice.
• See an original Frank Lloyd Wright house when you visit the Weltzheimer/Johnson House. This Usonian-style home was constructed in 1948 and 1949 and serves as an example of Wright's answer to the demand for beautiful yet affordable homes for middle-class Americans.
