Housed in an 18th-century mansion known as a “hôtel particulier,” a freestanding structure encompassing a central block called a “corps de logis,” Maison Delano Paris offers a uniquely grand yet residential stay in the heart of the City of Light’s distinguished 8th Arrondissement. Once home to Augustin Blondel de Gagny, an aristocratic art collector, this French Rococo-style manor overflows with opulent touches like elaborate ornamented ceilings with sculpted molding and glistening gilded details, many of which were lovingly preserved during extensive renovations to maintain the hotel’s historic character. A “trompe-l’oeil” ceiling of a realistically painted sky punctuated by fluffy white clouds in the hotel’s heritage suites also nods to the whimsical and exuberant elegance that Rococo style is known for.
Maison Delano Paris boasts 56 rooms and suites, each featuring exquisite classical architectural elements delightfully juxtaposed with the sleek lines of contemporary furnishings. Guests also have access to the Delano Bar, which shakes things up with a fusion of traditionalism and modernity, and the hotel’s French-Andalusian restaurant, La Chambre Bleue, which has taken up residence in the hotel’s idyllic courtyard.
