Domus Renier Boutique Hotel is located in the old port of Chania. Chania is the second largest city on the island of Crete, and also the capital of the local government region (municipality) which bears its name. Chania is on the north coast of Crete, around 60 km (37 miles) west of Rethymno and 135 km (84 miles) west of Heraklion. Often referred to as the "Venice of the East," Chania is a city that is divided into two parts: the old town, and the larger modern one. Chania old town surrounds the old harbor port, the basis of the development of the whole urban area and the modern city. The old town was once surrounded by Venetian fortifications dating back to 1538, but today only the eastern and western parts remain.

Chania has a long and unique history to narrate: once a Minoan settlement, it then went through the Roman, the Byzantine, the Arab, the Venetian, and the Ottoman era. Through various revolts, it was finally reunited with the rest of Greece in 1913. The Second World War and the Battle of Crete are other important chapters of Cretan history.

Driving Directions

From the airport, follow the signs that will lead you to Chania. Once you enter the town, follow Eleftheriou Venizelou Street, which leads to the municipal market. Continue straight onto Chatzimichali Giannari Street, which soon becomes Skalidi Street. Turn right onto Piraeus Street. Continue straight until you see the sea. Then turn right and drive 50 meters until you reach the free parking lot at Talos Square.

This is the nearest parking space to Domus Renier Boutique Hotel. Do not ignore the signs designating parking spaces for residents. The old town of Chania is in its entirety considered a monument. Therefore, traffic and car parking are restricted. Domus Renier Boutique Hotel is located within walking distance (200 meters) of the parking lot.

With the sea on your left, on the right you will see Theotokopoulou Street. Follow it until the end. Turn left onto Zambeliou, then again immediately left onto Theofanous Street. Head down the stairs until you reach Moschon Street and you will find Domus Renier Hotel.
