• Admire the unique historical character of this amazing historic hotel, once part of the Winterthur Estate and named for Alexandria de Montchanin, grandmother of the founder of the DuPont Company. The residence, long ago occupied by DuPont Company workers, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
• Discover evidence of the centuries-old DuPont legacy. Amid the collection include a large portrait of the owner’s grandmother, Margaretta Lamont DuPont Carpenter; carefully maintained craftwork, including the front desk handcrafted of walnut, and the majestic timber-framed barn that was originally used for dairy production.
• Stroll down Privy Lane, which is lined with the original privies from the 1840s. The Pink House is the most historic house on the grounds, named after Colonel Henry Algernon DuPont, and dates back to 1799.
