WWII, 1939 ~ 1945

Newport has long been a playground for the rich and famous with its gracious mansions lining the Cliff Walk overlooking Newport Beach. The great hurricane of 1938 wiped out the area’s hotels, and in 1940, a gracious gambrel-style inn opened overlooking Newport Beach.
