• Marvel at the stately architecture and gorgeous appointments of this century-old hotel, beginning with 24 marble and terracotta columns that grace the lobby and support an elegant high ceiling. • Meander through the hotel and notice the emblems that read “MH” carved into the molding in the lobby and on the balconies. MH stood for The Multnomah Hotel, the hotel’s name a century ago, named after a local Native American tribe—a branch of the Chinooks, called the Multnomah.
