The Great Depression, 1929 ~ 1938
The Wigwam was originally built at the height of the Roaring Twenties as a gathering place for Ohio-based executives of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. They discovered that the West Valley of Phoenix was a prime location to grow cotton for the production of rubber tires.
