The original property opened in 1900. A member of Historic Hotels Worldwide since 2016.
Hotel Morales was originally known as the House Verea, a two-story Colonial manor constructed in the 19th century. In 1930, Luis Morales renovated the building into a luxury hotel that he christened as the Hotel Morales. Due to his passion for “toros,” the hotel became popular among those connected to the bullfighting world. The hotel bar and barbershop were popular spots to discuss the sport in great detail. Hotel Morales has entertained countless Mexican luminaries over the years, such as María Félix ‘La Dona’, Pedro Infante, Jorge Negrete, and Mario Moreno “Cantinflas.”
The second-largest city in the country, Guadalajara is considered by most to be the home of many local forms of Mexican art and entertainment. Hotel Morales is specifically located in the city’s historic downtown district, which is filled with countless historical destinations to experience. This lovely destination is close to the Metropolitan Cathedral, as well as the world-famous Teatro Degollado. Additional attractions, such as the UNESCO-recognized Instituto Cultural de Cabañas, are just a short distance away, as well.
