Guests at Omni Mount Washington Resort have the chance to spend the night in historic accommodations at the highest peak in the Northwest. Omni Mount Washington Resort is truly massive and one of the most iconic hotels in all of the United States. It is a stunning luxury hotel that boasts plenty of New Hampshire activities to keep all its guests occupied. Nestled beautifully in the shadows of the Northeast's highest peaks, the hotel has easy access to the state's largest ski resorts. A cherished member of Historic Hotels of America since 1989, this world-class destination has been a favorite retreat of poets, celebrities, and even presidents alike.
Constructed following the turn of the century between 1900 and 1902 at a massive cost (around $1.7 million back then), the hotel was the brainchild of wealthy local industrialist Joseph Stickney. He hired 250 Italian artisans, specializing in granite and stucco masonry, to build the magnificent resort.
The hotel recently completed a significant $90 million renovation (the power of inflation when it only cost $1.7 million to build originally!), and continues to offer luxuriant and stunning accommodation options for decerning guests. Accommodation options range from standard guest rooms to the all-new Presidential Wing rooms and suites with their commanding views of the picturesque New Hampshire mountains.
Named in The 2021 Top 25 Historic Hotels of America Most Historic Golf Courses, the hotel includes two golf courses, one is a massive 18-hole Donald Ross-designed golf course. The other golf course is the original 9-hole golf course designed by A.H. Findlay. The Donald Ross 18-hole course was made in 1915, while the original A.H. Findlay is from 1895.
If guests are not interested in golf, there are plenty of other activities available at the Omni Mount Washington Resort. From horseback riding and guided hiking tours to full service spas and luxurious shopping options, this hotel knows how to keep their guests happy and entertained.
Today the Mount Washington Hotel is one of the last surviving grand hotels in the White Mountains. Staying in the beautiful state of New Hampshire doesn't get any better than this. For those with the budget, the Mount Washington Resort is a great way to discover the state. The hotel is the perfect blend of modernity and comfort, and the opulence and nostalgia of the turn of the century.
