The Pfister Hotel Honored with the AAA Four Diamond Designation for 45 Consecutive Years
Press Release provided by Marcus Hotels

Only 11 hotels in North America can claim the distinction of receiving this award every year since the beginning of the Diamond Ratings program

Milwaukee, June 15, 2021….  The Pfister Hotel, owned and managed by Marcus® Hotels & Resorts, is proud to announce that it received the coveted AAA Four Diamond Designation for its 45th consecutive year. The hotel is one of only 11 properties throughout North America to maintain the AAA Four Diamond designation since the inception of the Diamond inspection program in 1976.

“We are extremely honored that The Pfister Hotel is once again named a AAA Four Diamond hotel,” said Tim Smith, general manager of The Pfister Hotel. “The Pfister is known for its many amenities, like award-winning restaurants and spas, as well as its breathtaking historic architecture. But it is because of our fantastic team and their dedication to delivering extraordinary guest experiences that has allowed us to maintain this distinction for nearly half a century. We are excited to continue the Pfister’s legacy of service for years to come.”

Every year, AAA inspectors visit 27,000 hotels across North America to find the best stays for its members as it relates to modern guest expectations. After passing a rigorous inspection process, hotels are designated with a Diamond, which represents the overall quality, range of facilities and level of hospitality offered. A Four Diamond designation signifies upscale style and amenities with the right touch of service. This year, only 4.4% of rated hotels and restaurants achieved this designation.

“Receiving a AAA Four Diamond designation is no small feat,” said Nick Jarmusz, director of public affairs at AAA. “We are very selective about the properties we visit each year and have high standards that we hold all hotels to, especially our Diamond properties. Congratulations to the entire Pfister Hotel team for being part of an elite group of AAA Four Diamond properties that have maintained this designation for 45 consecutive years.”

The Pfister Hotel is known for its gracious service, timeless elegance, and the finest in exceptional hospitality. As Milwaukee’s distinguished luxury hotel, The Pfister features various dining experiences, such as its award-winning steak house, Mason Street Grill, Blu, its martini bar with panoramic views of the city as well as a full dining area at Café at the Pfister. Guests can also relax and recharge at the hotel’s on-site WELL Spa + Salon. In addition, The Pfister hosts many exceptional programs, including an internationally recognized Artist-in-Residence program, Pfister “Narrator” program that chronicles the daily life and spirit of the hotel, and its cherished Afternoon Tea, featuring its very own Tea Butler. The Pfister is also home to the largest Victorian art collection of any hotel in the world.

In addition to The Pfister Hotel earning the AAA Four Diamond designation, Marcus Hotels & Resorts has two other AAA Four Diamond properties in its portfolio. The Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva Wisconsin has been recognized with this top honor for 23 consecutive years and the Skirvin Hilton in Oklahoma City has earned this recognition for 14 consecutive years.

About The Pfister Hotel
At more than 125 years old, The Pfister Hotel is one of the oldest and most prestigious hotels in the Midwest and downtown Milwaukee. Originally opened in 1893 by businessman Guido Pfister, it was the most lavish hotel of its time. The hotel’s storied elegance had faded following World War II, until 1962, when Ben Marcus, founder of The Marcus Corporation, purchased this grand hotel out of bankruptcy. The Marcus Corporation renovated and restored the hotel to its original glory, adding convention facilities, a parking garage and 23-story guest tower. The Pfister Hotel is home to the largest collection of Victorian art of any hotel in the world, as well as an award-winning Artist-in-Residence program.

Today, The Pfister Hotel continues its tradition of gracious service and impeccable style and has been recognized by AAA as a Four Diamond property for 44 consecutive years. In 2019, The Pfister was recognized as a Top Hotel in the Midwest in Condé Nast Traveler’s prestigious annual Reader’s Choice Awards for the third consecutive year and was ranked the No. 1 Best Milwaukee Hotel by U.S. News & World Report. This exceptional property is a member of two prestigious hotel organizations, Historic Hotels of America and Preferred Hotels & Resorts. The Pfister Hotel is located at 424 E. Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee. For more information, please visit www.thepfisterhotel.com and follow the hotel on Facebook and Twitter (@PfisterHotel).
