Riggs Washington DC sits on a prominent corner in the Penn Quarter neighborhood downtown. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, it was once home to the Riggs National Bank, known as “the Bank of Presidents.” Architects James Hill and Arthur Heaton designed the exterior façade to model a brilliant combination of Romanesque Revival-style architecture, characterized by arched windows and sturdy pillars, making it one of a few buildings in all of Washington to showcase such a unique design aesthetic. Riggs Washington DC represents the first U.S. hotel within the Lore Group Collection that includes the Pulitzer Amsterdam in the Netherlands and Sea Containers London on the River Thames.
