• Experience the beauty and overwhelming size of Fairmount Park, which has over 215 miles of scenic trails winding through over 2,000 acres and is one of the largest urban parks in the country. The park is divided by the Schuylkill River. Within the park are an amazing number of things to see—the 27-acre Centennial Arboretum, Shofuso Japanese House and Garden, recreation centers, artworks, statues, the children's Please Touch Museum in Memorial Hall, a huge greenhouse for tropical plants—not to mention a multitude of historic houses, some of which are now art museums.
• Follow the example of Rocky and dash up the famous steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art; then go inside and admire major works of American, European, and Asian art from among the nearly quarter-million objects in the museum's collections. See the famous Von Kienbusch armor collection as well as paintings, sculpture, prints, drawings, decorative arts, and photographs. It is one of the largest art museums in the world, and among the top one hundred most visited.
