DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Dunblane Hydro is a small bastion of luxury out in the Scottish countryside. Nestled on a beautiful 10-acre estate, the hotel first opened with a grand ball in 1878. Designed by renowned Scottish architects Peddie and Kinnear, the hotel was originally a Victorian health spa resort. The Hydro, as it was then known, welcomed guests who came to drink the local spring water. Guests soon came to experience the beautiful countryside, fresh air, and outdoor activities in droves, making the Dunblane Hydro a popular vacationing spot in Scotland. And by the 1970s, it became the go-to destination for entertainment in the United Kingdom, cementing the Dunblane Hydro’s reputation as a premier hotel. In 2008 the Ability Group purchased the hotel, and a year later, it officially launched as a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel. The hotel is encompassed by the rich history of the beloved town of Dunblane, one of the oldest settlements in Scotland. From Roman invasions to ancient battles, princes, and kings, the town has been at the heart of the country’s rich heritage for centuries. With the cities of Edinburgh and Perth located nearby, Dunblane is surrounded by interesting attractions. Guests can easily plan trips to visit legendary historical sites like the Falkirk Wheel and Stirling Castle. The Dunblane Hydro is well placed for guests to enjoy a range of sights and experiences entrenched in Scottish history.
